LBGT+ POPULATIONS

The heart and soul of why we started our practice. Owned by two LBGT+ people, we hope to provide the level of care we desire for ourselves. We are open accepting and welcoming to all gender expressions, relationships, and lifestyles. We recognize that everyone is unique and as we ourselves are.


TRANSGENDER

As a practice owned by two gender non-conforming individuals, we strive to provide a safe place where your name and gender pronouns and safe are protected. We will go the extra mile, when possible.


Gender affirmation services such letters, referrals, etc at no-cost to you. We feel that charging isn’t right. We do everything we can to get you where you want to be while navigating legal, and healthcare policies. If you aren’t where you need to be, we’ll help you get there with compassion and empathy.

While, we don’t make the policies, we try to help you navigate the health care policies and legal policies , to access hormones, surgery, name changes, etc We recognize each person’s journey as individualist and we wish to assist you in whatever ways we can. It is our hope to reduce gate-keeping, while recognizing that healthcare companies and doctors, may impose requirements. We do everything we can, to cut gate-keeping out when possible.

FAQs

How long does each therapy session take?

Your typical intake is on average an hour and a half. Then weekly or biweekly sessions are typically 45 to 60 minutes long; depending on diagnosis and need.

What ages do you do therapy for?

We specialize in therapy for those who are 18 plus. For clients younger then 18, we recommend Shenandoah Community Health or Psychology Today; unfortunately at this time, we do not have therapist that specialize in younger children.

Do you offer couples, family, or group therapy?

We do not currently offer couples, family or group therapy. Due to lack of the number of therapist, insurance requirements/difficulties, and the consideration in regard to conflicts of interest.


Do you offer sliding scale rates?

At this time, we do not. We recommend EastRidge or Shenandoah Community Health if you are in need of sliding scale.

Will you write letters for Emotional Support Animals?

At this point we do no write letters for esa’s etc. It is recommended only counselor’s that have specialized training and are experienced in working with the service and/or emotional support animals write them(2019, ACA). We don’t due to potential risks involved for clients, the public, the counselor, and the animal.
